Throughout the years of humans being in existence, a standing of public speaking has been a huge factor in government, lawyerism, as well as agriculture. Public speaking has been a scarce act for many many years, as most people are scared and worrisome to speak in front of a big crowd. In El Capitan FFA’s history public speaking has been a standing LDE that students have been enthused into try because it can come in handy, in the real world, in non-Ag situations, and Ag situations in whatever their heart may desire. These speaking competitions enlighten their minds, into being authoritative in public speaking, and to not be scared of what others may think. El Capitan FFA’s teachers, and speaking coaches enthuze students to be well prepared as well as rounded people in many different aspects of their life. This year at El Capitan students have the opportunity to participate in multiple different contests. These contests are Impromptu speaking, Prepared Speaking, Job interview contest, as well as extempt speaking contests. These contests are of the utmost importance of our chapter because they are extraordinarily useful in all parts of life. Teaching students to be successful with public speaking is very important for the success of our students. We look forward to the merced college sectional speaking competition where all 4 teams will be competing to see the results. We wish the best of luck to all of our teams, as well as team members, in their pursuits.
