Welding Fabrication
The goal of El Capitan Welding Fabrication is to prepare students for a career as a heavy equipment mechanic. Power mechanics includes tractors, hydraulics, electrical systems, power trains, and diesel engines. There is a huge need for these mechanics and our program mirrors what is needed in the community. Our classes articulate with Merced College. Pathway classes include:

Ag Welding Technology 1
Welding Tech 1 is our concentration course for the Welding Fabrication Pathway. In this class, students will learn shop safety procedures, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, and oxy fuel welding and cutting.
Ag Welding Technology 2
Welding Tech 2 is our concentration course for the Welding Fabrication Pathway. In this class, students will learn shop safety procedures, MIG Welding, and TIG Welding.
Equipment Construction 1 and 2
Equipment Construction 1 and 2 is a capstone course for the Welding Fabrication Pathway. Students who have reached their capstone will learn project layout and more basic skills. They will reuse skills learned in the year prior and these skills will be used to construct projects.
